I can hardly sit down

I have been bent over by Bell sooooooo badly in the past couple of weeks! lol

Sooooooo when last we left our intrepid heroine she was waiting for her DSL to be set up. *cue ominous music* Well I recieved my modem on Friday Sept 23 and thought gee that wasn't so bad. HAHAHAHAHA silly me. On the very next day, my telephone went dead, with only the sound of an automated voice tellimg me that if I wanted my line set up I should call the Bell office. How interesting. So I call and gee whiz THEY don't understand why my phone shouldn't be working, they'll get right on that and my phone will be working the next day by 5pm, at 7pm I call gosh darn it that phone will fixed by midnight. Nope. They tell me call the office the next day - and so it goes for a WEEK!!!! After two days, I didn't even have the comforting sound of a dial tone when I picked up the phone. Thank gawd BT has a cell phone or I would have been trekking about looking a cell phone for all of my harassing calls to Bell. Seems when they were TRYING to hook up the DSL they somehow disconnected my phone but say hey, they left the voice mail on. FINALLY we got the phone working again, just in time for the El Cheapo dial-up we had got for the month to run out. Goodie.

So then we have the joy of trying to find out why the DSL still hasn't been connected when joy of joys I find out I have no long distance access. I can recieve l/d calls but not make them - not a totally bad thing but Katie was on her way to her dad's and I was trying to call Potsie to let him know when her train would arrive. ARRRRGGGGHHHHH.

I have been totally frustrated with them to the point where I can't even speak them without getting incoherent with anger. So I sicced BT on them - I've never heard anyone be sooooo polite while treating them the morons that they are LOL. At one point yesterday, we spoke to four different people and got four different answers as to why our internet wasn't yet hooked up. BT demanded a supervisor then a manager, then the managers boss - we actually had to call the head office in Montreal to get anywhere. It turns out that their computer says that our line isn't available for DSL so the tech people who were supposed to be hooking it for the past three weeks got the order, they checked the computer and then just didn't do it. We have decided that the computer at Bell is called HAL and every time a tech tries to install the DSL on our line it says " Don't touch that Dave." I have a picture in my mind now of the people at Bell being monkeys all prancing around a monolith that has wires sprouting from all over it LOL.
Anyhow AFTER that little call to the head office, miracle of miracles, my DSL was connected tonight. I still don't have l/d service but they are supposed to be fixing that tomorrow. We'll see.

The upshot of this long and drawn out whine is that I'M BACK finally. Now I can catch up and post to my little hearts content. Thanks everyone for sticking around. You guys are the bestest! Mwah!
