What the hell is the matter with people?

I was going to blog about my trip to Oshawa and the triumph of finding a new apartment that wasn't a)overpriced and b)disgustingly filthy, then I turned on the TV.
What the hell is the matter with people? Why has killing innocent civilians become a sport to terrorists? I'm just so sad about all this, I had to hop right on the net and check all the people that I read in England just to make sure they were ok. So far everyone is alright (thank whatever god you believe in). This is just so awful, stupid and disgusting. I'll blog about my adventures in apartment hunting later when I don't hate the world quite so much. (I don't hate you all btw just assholes who kill innocent people in the name of religion)

I think your choice of words is off the mark. It is not sport. It is using the terror of unexpected bloodshed to make a lasting impression and an opportunity to be heard.
The people are innocent. The government of the UK and the USA are not so innocent.
Did you read the Downing Street memos? Did you see how the UK and the USA stepped up bombing the Iraq no fly zone by thousands of tons of bombs hoping to provoke Saddam?
Did you know of the USA's CIA involvement with Afganistan to oust the invading USSR? That we abandoned them as soon as the USSR withdrew after many promises of support were made and never kept?
I do not condone their actions - but I understand them.
I'D LOVE TO CHANGE THE WORLD....BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO....SO I LEAVE IT UP TO YOU.......

Tim has shocked me.

Saying you don't condone it, but 'understand' it? Erm.... what exactly do you understand, Tim? There IS NO UNDERSTANDING.

Regardless of the actions of our governments, it still doesn't give reason for the things we have witnessed today and before. Never.

We could talk about governments all we like, but which bloody idiots voted the bastards on both shores back in? Thats right, the majority of the voters in our respective countries (apparently).

At this moment in time, I couldn't give a stuff about Downing Street memo's, no-fly zones, the USA's CIA involvements in anything. As far as I'm concerned, I don't know what's true and what's not true. More to the point, neither do you.

No government, anywhere in the world, is clean. So there's no point in singling out the US, the UK or anywhere else.

Todays acts, the acts of terror, along with all the other acts of terror and dispicable. Lets concentrate on them, the matters in hand, rather on what our governments do or don't get up to.

So, does that mean you've been accepted to a place?

Tim and Taz - I see what you are both saying. However I think if these terrorists really wanted to affect change they would take a page from a fellow Indian, Gandhi. Non-violent protests, as we have seen in history, lead to better results. For instance, instead of a sucide bombing, all the Palestinians could go sit out on a road block or in a Jewish settlement, just sit there - however long it takes - till they had what they want - their land back.
The actions of our governments are frustrating, but these bombings do nothing but reinforce the ignorance that lead to our leaders stupid decisions.
It is all very sad.

There is no rhyme or reason when it comes to terrorism. It's horrible.

I agree whole heartedly that the principle of non violence would go so much further than the current acts of terror. When I said that I understood their actions, it was or is on the basic animal instinct of frustration. You have a kid in the neighborhood who is consistantly picked on by a few bullies and he is too weak to fight back. Eventually, he is going to find a baseball bat and whack the bastards when their back is turned.
