Moving sucks

Have I mentioned that moving sucks?
Well not the moving really, just the packing and dealing with everyone else preparing for the move. There are boxes all over the house and still so many to pack, all the stuff that I'm donating to charity (that won't be picked up until the day before I actually move!), garbage bags full of broken stuff ( I'm a klutz, what can I say?) and just plain garbage.

All of that isn't even the worse thing. I let Bell know that I would be moving - the date etc. - so I could get my new phone number up and running (and unlisted). I got an email a couple of days ago - seems they have had some kind of strike and have a backlog of service calls soooooo even though I'm moving on August 15 and the phone HERE will be cut off on that date, my new phone won't be connected until SEPTEMBER 6TH!!! That means no phone and no internet for over two weeks. I am so going to go into withdrawal. I hate the phone company oh yes I do.

now you see what I was telling you? I was without a phone for 2 months because they connected my phone a month early as second line to the previous owners who never realized it even, and we had to pay for it. They wouldn't fix the problem (their fault) because of the strikes that have been going on for months now till a month after i'd moved in. nice huh? I had to borrow a cell phone of a family member for a while for emergencies. I still saw, come with me to digital phone service, looks way better and highly affordable.

YIKES!!! no phone for 3 weeks? ARRGGHHH I would go nuts. I may never use it, but just the THOUGHT of being out of touch gives me the shivers!!

I would pay for 2 weeks of internet but not phone service - Im considering dropping my land line altogether, I don't even know why I keep it.

Moving is such a joy! What amazes me the most about moving is how something that's been perfectly fine in your house for years is suddenly trash because you don't want to move it. ha!

Agree with Nell's comments, consider dumping the land line altogether - some of my friends have been doing that to save on phone bills.
Good luck with the move - may it be the beginning of a great start!
