Mom

Mom Posted by Hello

This is Mom at around age 13 while still in Australia. What I wish I had was a picture of my mother in her school uniform. When my grandparents moved to Australia my mother was about 12 and she was working at a grade level about 2 years higher than where she was placed when they moved there. That got on her nerves along with fact that she hated her school uniform. She says it had this big straw boater hat as part of the uniform which she despised. According to my grandmother, my mom ummmm lost 5 hats before my grandma gave up LOL. My mother gave up public school at 14, went to typing school and got a job soon after.

Our school had straw boaters for summer, and these horrid bottle green hats for winter. The boaters were completely elegant compared to the hideous green things.

The day they removed the boaters from the uniform was a very happy day indeed, but it took about another 3 years before we could stop wearing the ugly green hats.

It's a Lexmark 2200 All-in-One printer/scanner/copier. Purchased at Future S*op for the grand total of $60. It works really well in all its incarnations (for my purposes anyways)

My dad has a similar scanner! They really do a much better job than I thought they would, for the price. :)

I love the old pictures and the stories that go along with them. It makes me want to do the same. I wonder where my moms box of old pictures is...

Lost, do you do genealogy? I started it after I retired to trace my family and I wish I had started years back when people were still alive to give first-hand stories and accounts! It helps greatly to have all the stories you can and is fun to pass forward to your own children. :)
