Passin the time

So my daughter is gone for pretty much the whole summer and I'm passin the time trying to make my apartment more livable. Katie comes home for three days about every ten days and it's absurd how much I miss her. She's 17 now and I should be really getting ready for her to be heading off for college in the next year or so. I didn't realize just how much I would miss her. *sigh* my little girl is growing up, hell who am I kidding - she's already grown. lol.

I haven't seen or heard from my son in two years now although Katie still has friends in Hamilton that she still talks to who say they see him around. He turned 20 this year and it just breaks my heart that I don't have any contact with him.

BT and I are still together and it's workin out well. Right now we're painting the walls, putting down new peel n stick tiles (over the ones that have been there since Noah built the ark) and replacing the dome lights in the hallway. I wouldn't normally replace lights BUT since I, um, damaged the ones that were there I have to fix them lol. It's so stupid - I was replacing the light bulbs since they both burned out at the same time... so there I was on a chair holding the glass dome with one hand and trying to screw the finial back on when my hand slipped and BANG the heavy glass dome fell, bounced HARD off the top of my head and shattered on the floor. Only me. lol. So I get down off the chair (trying NOT to cut my clumsy feet lol) and as I get the broom and am walking down the hall, I hit the OTHER light with the broom handle and smash that one too. what a mess. So I've been looking but, guess what, you can't just replace the damn domes you have to buy all new fixtures. I found some cheap ones today so woohoo I'll finally have covered lights again lol.

Hmmm what else...... Potsie and his fiance have moved out of the province. They seem to be very happy and I"m pleased for them. Pisses me off that he doesn't contact his daughter more but c'est la vie - she's old enough to deal with him herself now.

Well, it's late late late so I'm off to bed.
