Yup that's right, I'm pissed off.
On July 26th Pax wrote a post about LaToyia F. and the campaign by Mr. Blair of allspinzone.com to write Nancy Grace of CNN. This was a way to get LaToyia's story national coverage like Natalee Holloway, Laci Peterson, the Runaway Bride etc got on CNN. So in the hope that we could make even a small difference I sent an email to Nancy Grace asking her why she was devoting so much time to Ms. Holloway and none to other missing people who were much closer to home like LaToyia. The day after the e-mail writing campaign was started CNN put the story on their website, the day after that Nancy Grace covered it on her show. We made a difference, working together bloggers from all over made a difference and helped get LaToyia's story national coverage. This was amazing to me.
My friends, Tazzy and Piggy saw the posts about LaToyia here and on Pax's blog and the boys came up with a great idea. Their idea was that bloggers everywhere make the first Monday of every month "Missing Monday", where individual bloggers find missing persons cases in their area and post their story and picture on their blog. Just think how many people and stories can get out there, if only 12 bloggers do this, only 12, in a year the stories and pictures of 144 people will have been seen and read by who knows how many people. There are so so many missing persons out there and some of the cases are so old that every little bit might help. It may NEVER get anyone found but there is always the CHANCE that it will be seen by someone who knows something. There is the chance that even one family will have some closure on the disappearance of their loved one.
So what am I so pissed about? Well, the lovely Piggy and Tazzy got a nasty comment about Missing Monday. It really steams me that someone could be so negative about something that is being done with the best of intentions. I think it's a good idea, it may come to nothing but it's not hurting anyone either. No one is obligated to participate and no one will be censured if they don't join in either.
If you are interested by all means join in and maybe head over to The Chocolate Starfish and give Piggy and Tazzy your support. Ok I'll get off my soapbox now, rant over.

Like I said to taz and pig: don't let the little creep get you mad or down. That was his/her/it's intention. Yeah, I know the twirp had a masculine name; however, in the world of the internet, we know that it is not always necessarily the same gender as the writer.

You're right Maidink, that "person" is a twerp. It still ticked me off though. Now that I've ranted about it, I've calmed down LOL I can be such a hothead sometimes.
Someone actually put them down for attempting good in this world of ours? Shame on them! I don't say I would necessarily contribute, but its not for me to criticize their efforts. What an ass!?! I'm going over to the Starfish right now!

You're all correct. He is a shithead. When I figure out how to block comments from him, it will be done.

if anybody goes missing from around here than i'd join in, naturally - it's a very good idea. if some shithead is going to post something negative about it all there is one thng to remember: it's your blog so you can post whatever you like - sod the others.
