Love or a reasonable facsimile

So the dinner between younger brother and Annie went well. No slap and tickle mind you, but that might be better in the long run. Could get awkward between me and Annie if they got intimate quickly and then it fell apart - but I could just be paranoid - after all he's 40 and she's 42 - it's not like they are teenagers any more. All went well though, dinner was cooked to perfection, they watched a movie that neither one had seen yet and they walked each others ears off. A perfect night, when all is said an done lol.

I've been crafting away like mad, trying to make some extra money cuz I've been broke broke broke. Things have been very tight for past few months and I don't see much relief in sight but I have been making moccasins and selling them so I've been bringing in a little extra money. I've been collecting old leather jackets, skirts etc and using them to make the slippers. I think I need to start selling them on eBay to really bring in some extra cash.

It was my grandma's birthday on Sunday - Happy 85th Grandma. I'm starting to worry about her a bit as she seems well...so fragile. She's been getting smaller and smaller as the years go by. When I was a teenager, she was 4'11 1/2 and she tells me that she is now about 4'9". I have to make a promise to myself to go and see her more often. I know it makes a bad granddaughter but she's getting a bit absent minded and I get sooooooo tired of hearing the same stories over and over and over. *sigh* Ah well, she's my grandma and I love her. I wish she and my mom would make up though, they still haven't spoken and it's been over a year now. Gad, my family can hold a grudge.

Did anyone else watch that nonce David Blaine "escape" from his little swimming pool? What a load of horse puckies THAT was. Geez, he didn't even escape from the chains - that is like walking and talking to magicians. Sorry if anyone else liked it, but I thought it was LAME and if I had rolled my eyes one more time, they might have stayed that way LOL To hear REAL magicians talk about this you should listen to Penn Jillette (of Penn and Teller fame) on his daily radio show on FreeFM - you can download his shows from www.pennradio.com.

Quick update

So I suppose I should update the world at large as to what has been going on here. Nothing much lol. Truly! Katie is still going to school and her marks aren't TOO bad - she's still passing everything. Potsie and I are still getting along well - better now in fact than the last two years that we were together lol. I'm still going out with BT, and we still even like each other lol.

One of the good things about moving back here is reconnecting with my oldest and bestest friend from childhood. We've known each other since we were 8 and we've stayed in contact all that time. I'll just call my friend Annie. Well, Annie has been single a long time - 13 years in fact and the two of us decided that she needs to start dating again. Sooooooo - I set her up on a date with my brother. Not a big hot date or anything - she invited him over for a home cooked dinner and to watch a couple of movies. *Crossed fingers* I'm so hoping everything went well. She's been so keyed up for weeks now that I hope my big dumb brother didn't do anything stupid lol. Not that I really think he would, but well, he IS my younger brother and occasionally NOT the sharpest knife in the drawer but I do trust him not to hurt her. The date was Saturday night (tonight, last night whatever!) and I'm sooo dying to know how it went but I'm scared to call in case I interupt something LOL BT has been teasing me for a week that I'm pimping my brother out LOL. Guess you guys will have to stand by for an update too. lol

Back from the depths

Well, I'm back and I suppose I should explain my absence - not that it will probably make all that much sense to anyone else.

If there is anyone that DOESN'T know - I'm rather bogged down in my own head. I'm being treated for depression, anxiety, panic etc etc etc (too boring for anyone else to have to hear the whole diagnosis lol) anyways, let's just say I have problems.

Living as I was in Hamilton, I was getting worse and worse so I moved back here to Oshawa to have a kind of support system with my family and a couple of good friends. For a while, wow, did this help but then the depression monster snuck up on me around Christmas and then someone said when I was talking about my cyber-life on the blogs - they said wow you know more about those people you've never met (and probably never will sadly) than you do about the people around you.

It made me stop and think and you know - they were right. I knew more about what someone in Tennessee was doing with their children than I knew about what my own daughter was doing down the hall. And I just sort of....folded. I stopped blogging, I stopped reading my emails, I basically stopped doing anything that didn't involve the here and now. Just as unhealthy as sitting at the computer for hours on end reading about other peoples lives.

So now I'm going to try for some balance, now that I feel better. Hopefully no one hates me and I can start to do things I enjoy again. If you are still coming here, thank you for hanging in there with me.
